Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre

British Shorthair · Male · Young · 2 years

Kürbis appeared at a feeding station for stray cats. He was secured for neutering and microchipping. As it turned out, Kürbis is not averse to people at all, so we now want to find a nice home for the handsome fellow. Kürbis is initially a bit shy around new people. If you approach him calmly, he quickly thaws and shows his affectionate, cuddly side. He puts his head in your hand and enjoys being stroked. We are looking for a quiet home for Kürbis with patient people who let him settle in at his own pace. Kürbis will soon have a medical procedure, then he can move to a new home. Kürbis needs outdoor access in his new home again. If you would like to meet Kürbis already, please contact us via phone or contact form. DE·Show original

Kürbis benötigt wieder Freigang in seinem neuen Zuhause. About Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre

What life with Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre looks like

Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre is a young adult british shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzzentrum Ribbesbüttel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kürbis, ca. 2 Jahre and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
