Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Cat Now! The handsome tomcat was probably abandoned in an area where there was already a “leader.” As a result, Kuri got into many fights and was frequently bitten and scratched by this dominant cat. A kind-hearted woman took both cats in, had them neutered, and hoped the fighting would stop. However, this did not happen, so she eventually turned to us, asking for help for Kuri, who no longer felt safe in that contested territory. The fights have left their mark—especially on his face, where the gentle tomcat bears numerous scars from deep scratches. Yet his heart remains open, and he thoroughly enjoys human attention. Above all, he loves the peace and quiet he can now enjoy. After his turbulent time on the streets, this handsome house cat is delighted with long naps and lots of cuddles—he simply loves lying relaxed in his basket, being petted and stroked—and yes, he adores treats! Perhaps due to his negative experiences, or maybe for other reasons, Kuri doesn’t necessarily enjoy the company of other cats. Therefore, he’d feel most comfortable as an only cat, with all the cuddling opportunities in his new home entirely at his disposal. Outdoor access could be considered for this tomcat—depending on the environment in his new home and whether other cats roam freely there. At the time of his departure, Kuri is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. As a proud owner of an EU pet passport, this handsome fellow can set off toward a new life for a protection fee. If you’d like to provide this gentle tomcat with a cozy, cuddly spot, we’d love to hear from you! Many thanks to Heike D.-Sch. for naming him and thus giving Kuri the chance at happiness!

About Kuri

What life with Kuri looks like

Kuri is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kuri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kuri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kuri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kuri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kuri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kuri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kuri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
