Kyza

Male · Adult · 6 years

Kyza is a handsome, gentle boy who has found has found kennel life overwhelming His favourite thing in the world is food, and it's certainly the way to his heart! He's clever, eager to learn, walks beautifully on the lead, knows his sit and wait, travels well in the car, and loves playing with small, soft squeaky toys, whether on his own or with his favourite people. Kyza has been in a home for a short time where he was housetrained, although this will likely need refreshing in his new home. He can settle when left alone but has been known to counter surf if given access to the kitchen, and he's clever enough to open doors, so adopters will need to manage his environment accordingly! Kyza can take time to trust new people, so he'll need patient adopters who are happy to make several visits to the centre. He's looking for an adult-only, quiet home with few visitors, where he can continue building his confidence. He'll need to be the only pet and currently wears a muzzle on walks while continuing his training and social skills. Walking in quieter areas and at quieter times will help him feel more comfortable around people and other dogs. Kyza would love his own secure garden in a peaceful location with no rear public access (such as alleyways or roads) and ideally set back from the pavement (for example with a driveway). With patience, consistency and reassurance, Kyza will blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys nothing more than being by your side or curled up for a cosy snooze.

About Kyza

What life with Kyza looks like

Kyza is a small adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kyza, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kyza?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kyza on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kyza if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kyza already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kyza isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kyza and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
