Laba

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! Laba has finally found her happiness! Her story: Our wonderful Laba is searching for her permanent home. The approximately 4.5-year-old, neutered female dog, standing about 65 cm at the shoulder, not only brings size but also a lively past. Laba spent many years in the shelter and during this time barely had the chance to experience the environment. Now she is catching up on everything she was denied for so long. She currently shows a very lively, playful, and energetic temperament—clearly enjoying her newly found freedom. Laba approaches unfamiliar people very cautiously. She needs space, calmness, and most importantly, time to build trust. She is never aggressive. Once a bond is established, however, a close connection forms. This connection is at least initially marked by strong feelings of loss, requiring patience and empathy to convey her sense of security. Laba always meets children politely and kindly—also small children. Nevertheless, her new home should be overall quiet and structured, as she reacts very sensitively to environmental stimuli. Many new impressions quickly unsettle her. A rural or quiet living environment would therefore be ideal. Laba is very socially compatible with other animals and closely follows their behavior. A confident single dog in her new family would be a great advantage and would greatly help her to feel more secure. She can currently only be left alone for short periods in the company of other dogs. The complete alone time must be built up gradually and step by step. In everyday life, there are still some challenges: Especially during feeding and on the leash, excitement arises. Therefore, leash training must be intensified. At the same time, Laba rides calmly in the car and has already lived with cats in one of her foster homes. Physically, Laba also brings a small history. She has an old injury on her left hind leg and should be accompanied by physiotherapy. Additionally, she needs to build up muscle mass and gain some weight. For Laba, we are looking for people with understanding, patience, calmness, and clear structure. She is not suitable for novice dog owners. However, if you give her security, orientation, and reliability, you will find a loyal, social, and lively companion who is finally ready to arrive. Our Laba is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in her new home. She brings her EU pet passport with her and will be ready after a positive adoption. Who gives Laba the chance to truly begin her life anew? Many thanks to Birgit D. for taking on the name sponsorship! Many thanks to Dagmar R.-R.! You support Laba with a monthly sponsorship! As of: 01.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Dagmar R.-R.! Du unterstützt Laba mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 01.03.2026

About Laba

What life with Laba looks like

Laba is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Laba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Laba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Laba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Laba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Laba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Laba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Laba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
