adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Labowie has found a home! His story: The little fighter Labowie made it to the first step towards a safe life and was able to travel to his foster home in rural Siegerland in late August. Now he is searching for his "forever home." From his foster home, Labowie is described as roundly lovable, curious, and cuddly. Currently, he still sleeps a lot because his wonderful new doggy life with all the new impressions is exhausting for the young pup. And of course, playing and running in the garden with the two other dogs in the house makes him naturally tired too 🙂 Labowie is learning very well and already responds to the first basic commands. His walks are going really well, and he always greets strangers and other dogs with friendliness. Brave, happy, open, and curious, he explores his new world more and more. Originally, Labowie came from Zalau. He was found in the forest with his siblings in a tied-up sack, left to die. But Labowie survived and despite this traumatic background, developed into a thoroughly sweet, friendly, and curious character. He enjoys human proximity, loves being stroked, and is happiest when he is right in the middle of everything. Of course, he is still a bit unsure in some situations, but he seeks safety with his people who must show him the right path with love, lots of rewards, and consistent training. Therefore, a visit to dog training classes is definitely recommended. It will be fun for him, the bond will grow stronger, and so the upcoming puberty can be managed well. Labowie is currently around 5 months old, stands 40 cm at the shoulder, and weighs about 8 kg. He is expected to reach a larger medium size when fully grown. Labowie is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. Of course, he also has his EU passport and is free to travel after a positive match. In love with our golden puppy Labowie? Verliebt in unseren goldigen Hundebub Labowie? About Labowie

What life with Labowie looks like

Labowie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Labowie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Labowie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Labowie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Labowie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Labowie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Labowie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Labowie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
