Mille

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 9 years

Name: Mille Breed: Mixed Breed Gender: female, spayed Date of birth: approx. October 20, 2019 Height at withers: approx. 50–55 cm Weight: approx. 25 kg Location: Refugio des Tierschutzvereins Fundacio d´Animals, Reus, Tarragona (Spain) Mille was loved and not willingly abandoned. The mixed-breed lady was adopted some time ago by a family from Fundacio d´Animals. Fate struck when the husband unexpectedly passed away. His wife was left behind with Mille as a cherished memory of happier times and as emotional support in her life. She too fell ill, fought cancer twice, and suffered severe financial hardship due to her illness. Consequently, Milles owner sold her property, but the female dog was allowed to stay—the new owner fortunately took her in. However, this new owner eventually emigrated and left the dog behind in Spain. Thus, after four years, Mille returned to Craig. He says Mille is doing well, but he can tell she’s sad and doesn’t understand her situation. This mixed-breed lady would be ideally placed in a family—she adores children above all. Would you like to finally give female dog Mille the home she truly deserves? Milles’ adoption coordinator Bettina Thoma looks forward to your call, email, SMS, or WhatsApp message. *** Good to know: As soon as someone expresses interest in this furry friend, Craig draws blood to ensure the most up-to-date test results for Mediterranean diseases. So please don’t hesitate to let us know if you’ve fallen for her 😉 *** Mille will travel microchipped, vaccinated (rabies and 5-in-1), dewormed, tested for Mediterranean diseases, spayed, and equipped with an EU pet passport to start her new life.

About Mille

What life with Mille looks like

Mille is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfreunde Europa e.V. in Simonswald.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mille, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mille?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mille on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mille if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mille already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mille isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mille and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
