Lady

Border Collie · Female · Adult · 5 years

Lady is a beautiful Border Collie-mix girl who was brought to us by a man who reportedly found her wandering the streets of Altos de Los Monteros area of Marbella. Most likely she was the dog of of some countryside ground, where sometimes people lived and sometimes not, because she came to us in a good physical condition, her fur is not matted and she is not skinny, so she has been looked after to some extent, but then probably left alone most of the time. Lady is one of the most beautiful dogs we have in the shelter, inside and outside. She is shy at first, but actually she absolutely loves to be around the humans she trusts, and even when running and playing in the dog park, she often comes back to your side and just enjoys walking side-by-side. She is looking for physical affection and asks you to continue petting and caressing her, by giving your hand a nudge to come back to her head. She greets the humans she knows and trusts so cheerfully, with a wagging tail and little dances. Lady loves other dogs, and her character really comes out when she can be together with another dog, then she starts to play and run together. Lady loves to rub her back on the fresh grass in the dogpark, and to go investigating all the bushes and corners, but then comes directly back to her human. There is one particular thing about Lady, and she seems to be fearful of roofings - for example big sun umbrellas, she is looking mistrustingly upwards. It can be that she has been living outdoors all her life, and never been indoors, so that is something to train with her. She feels the most comfortable out in the nature, running in the dog park - then her posture straightens up, her tail raises and she becomes lively and cheerful. For Lady we are looking for a home which definitely has exterior space and the opportunity, if needed, to slowly gain her confidence to go indoors. Ideally her home would be on the countryside, in the nature, and not next to loud city life, even though she is coming from an area of streets and cars, she does seem to be scared of sudden loud noises. She would love to join a home with already a friendly dog waiting for her, but she could also be a single dog of a loving human, in case occasional canine contact is provided. In a perfect world, Lady could find a human that has experience with Border Collies or shy dogs. Her shoulder height is approximately 55cm.

About Lady

What life with Lady looks like

Lady is a medium-sized adult border collie dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lady, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lady?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lady on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lady if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lady already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lady isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lady and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
