Adopt Lady

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

The cute white-brown Lady was rescued along with other dogs from the municipal animal shelter in Oradea/Romania in April. She came from the pound in Marghita, where she was either caught by a dog catcher on the streets or given up by her owner. This happened in February 2025. In March, she was relocated to Oradea. However, she had the good fortune of being saved by caretakers from Sisterea in April. She had already been neutered at the municipal animal shelter in Oradea but was still scheduled to be euthanized shortly thereafter. Lady is now waiting for a nice safe home forever. She should not be disappointed again. And here the ITV Grenzenlos wants to help her. Because the lovely female dog is a treasure. She has a pleasant and balanced temperament. She is still young and accordingly lively and full of spirit. She does not yet know life in a household and your family will need patience and time for a good upbringing and acclimatization. Children in the family should be somewhat older. For Lady is strong. She is a Shepherd mixed breed and needs people who have experience with dogs. Clear rules and consistent leadership are essential to turn Lady into a well-behaved and friendly family dog. She has all the best prerequisites for that and is very receptive to loving treatment by humans. She loves to be petted and spoiled with treats. She is people-oriented and clingy; she follows the person who treats her well and talks kindly to her everywhere. She gets along well with the other dogs at the animal shelter and walks nicely on the leash. Lady was born in February 2023 and is 58 cm tall. At the animal shelter, she has been vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for parasites. She could come to Germany with the next transport if someone would like to take her in. About Lady

What life with Lady looks like

Lady is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at ITV Grenzenlos e.V. in Essel.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lady, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lady?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ITV Grenzenlos e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lady on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lady if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ITV Grenzenlos e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lady already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lady isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ITV Grenzenlos e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lady and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
