Lala

Akita · Female · Puppy · 10 months

At just 9 months old, we feel the very best is yet to come for Lala. This beautiful Akita crossbreed is still growing and learning and, with positive reward-based training, will blossom into a deeply loyal, loving, and affectionate companion. Fortunately, training should be enjoyable, as Lala has so far been a fan of every treat she's been offered! Lala is a bouncy, energetic young girl who loves being outside. We would like to see her in a home with access to a secure garden where she can run, play, and enjoy her surroundings. Due to her enthusiastic nature, any children in the home should be older and confident around larger, bouncy dogs. Lala is ready to leave her past behind and begin the next chapter of her life with a family who will give her the love, guidance, and adventures she deserves. After an uncertain start in life that saw her abandoned and left alone, Lala found herself in the care of a stray pound, Lala is now searching for her perfect match. This lovely girl enjoys walks, tasty treats, and getting cosy. A true companion, Lala loves being around people and will happily follow you around. Although she has yet to discover a favourite toy, she certainly enjoys good company and exploring the great outdoors. She would be delighted to join her new family on adventures around the Lake District and beyond.

About Lala

What life with Lala looks like

Lala is a puppy/kitten akita dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cumbria in Cumbria.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cumbria handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cumbria will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cumbria early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
