Laska

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Country of origin: Hungary This adorable little dog has been named Laska! He was spotted wandering alone in Kecskemét on June 7, 2026, and reported to the animal shelter by attentive passersby. Shelter staff immediately responded, and fortunately, the little fellow was brought to the shelter unharmed. As unfortunately expected, he was neither microchipped nor reported missing by anyone. Probably yet another episode in the endless story of unwanted litters... Laska is now waiting at the Menhely for his new humans—people who will walk alongside him on his future journey, loving, respecting, and protecting him. Laska is a sweet, kind, agile, cheerful, curious, and friendly four-legged friend. New situations can sometimes make him feel intimidated and impressed. He’s happiest when someone spends time with him and showers him with affectionate petting—a luxury that, sadly, often falls short for so many dogs at the shelter. Laska is still very young and has much to learn about being a dog. His new people should have fun and patience, teaching him everything step by step with love and understanding—and be fully aware of the work, responsibility, and time commitment involved in caring for a young dog. Laska longs to go on adventures with his humans and spend many wonderful hours together. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves playing and romping with them. He lives in a young-dog group. We’re looking for nice, active, and adventurous dog lovers who’ll welcome our dearest Laska into their family forever. He needs age- and species-appropriate activities, and he wants to be challenged and encouraged. Plus lots of cuddle time, plenty of play and fun, dog training classes, great walks, and sufficient quiet moments—then Laska can leave his past behind once and for all and start a happy new life. Anyone who gives this four-legged friend their time and love will gain a loyal companion for life. Currently, Laska is too young for neutering; his new owners will need to arrange this procedure when he’s old enough. His final height is estimated at 40–50 cm, and his final weight at 10–18 kg. On July 31, 2026, Laska was 35 cm tall and weighed 7.6 kg. Medical Update as of August 2, 2026: When Laska arrived at the shelter, he had a skin fungus that was successfully treated. Unfortunately, he’s missing the tip of his right ear. The shelter veterinarian suspects this part died off due to the skin fungus. Apart from that, Laska is healthy today and has no limitations whatsoever. Laska can travel starting around early August 2026, once he’s found a permanent home or a foster placement.

About Laska

What life with Laska looks like

Laska is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Laska, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Laska?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Laska on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Laska if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Laska already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Laska isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Laska and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
