Laurel

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Β· Female Β· Senior Β· 11 years

Laurel is a friendly girl who seems to know that making friends is one of life's greatest pleasures! She is quick to say hello and will happily accept a tasty treat or a head scratch from anyone willing to give her one. Although she is not particularly interested in toys, she is much more of a people person and would far rather enjoy a cuddle and a snooze than worry about playtime. Laurel also loves getting out and about to explore new places, and you'll often find her nose busy investigating every inch of the floor β€” there's always another interesting smell to discover! Laurel has some medical needs, which could lead to additional costs. A member of our rehoming team can discuss this with you in more detail to further understand Laurel's needs. She's a lovely, easy-to-love girl who would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a little extra affection in their life. Whether you are heading out for a sniffy stroll or settling down together on the sofa, Laurel would love to be part of it. Could this sweet, cuddly lady be your perfect match? Laurel is a super-sweet Staffy who loves people and is always happy to make a new friend! At 11 years old, she's looking for a home where she can enjoy the finer things in life, including plenty of fuss, cuddles and time spent with her favourite people. She could potentially share her home with another dog, pending successful introductions, although she'd much prefer an older, calmer companion. Children of primary school age and older could also be part of her new family and Laurel will be more than happy to welcome regular visitors into the home. We don't have any history of Laurel being left alone, so any time spent by herself will need to be introduced gradually once she's settled in. If you're looking for a lovely, affectionate companion to share your home and your heart with, Laurel could be the girl for you!

About Laurel

What life with Laurel looks like

Laurel is a senior staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Salisbury in Newton Tony.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Laurel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Laurel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Salisbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Laurel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Laurel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Salisbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Laurel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Laurel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Salisbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Laurel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
