Lech

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

The little Lech is one of the puppies of dog mom Adele. Together with his siblings, he was born under very unfortunate circumstances: Adele gave birth to her babies right on the street, where the danger of being run over was ever-present. Fortunately, the little family was rescued in time and Lech is now able to grow up in safety. Lech is currently about 3.5 months old and about 35 cm tall. He will probably grow to be medium-sized when fully grown. It is difficult to say what breeds are in him, as Adele's origin is unknown. Many things are possible - herding dog genes cannot be ruled out. We cannot currently assess whether he will get along with cats. As a young puppy, Lech must still learn about the big world. Housebreaking, being left alone, driving in a car, and leash training are not yet part of his daily routine. His future owners should therefore bring time, patience, and a lot of love and show him step by step how life as a family dog works. Adopting a puppy does not get you a fully trained dog. Lech is still at the beginning and needs a loving, consistent upbringing so that he can gradually learn the little dog ABC. And puberty will also come at some point - a phase in which rules are often questioned and already learned things seem to be forgotten. With understanding, clear guidance, and joint attendance at a positively working dog school, Lech will certainly grow into a great companion for life. For Lech, we are looking for people who are aware of the responsibility for a young dog and have enough time to show him the world. Who would like to give him the safe and happy home he so deserves? Lech travels with a microchip, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-free with his EU pet passport. After a positive preliminary check, he can be placed for a deposit. A foster home would also be an important step in his happy future. Many thanks to Ruth R.! You gave Lech his special name! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Ruth R.! Du hast Lech seinen besonderen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 19.08.2026 Weitere Informationen zum Thema Vorkontrolle und Schutzgebühr

About Lech

What life with Lech looks like

Lech is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lech, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lech?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lech on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lech if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lech already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lech isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lech and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
