Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

ProfileAge: Born in 2023. Gender: male. neutered: yesCharacter: very friendly, open, people-orientedSize: approx. 49 cmIn shelter since: January 2025Hello to the big wide world, I am the handsome dog Legolas and looking for my Forever Home!Currently I am behind bars, but that is really an unsightly situation for a four-legged friend like me. I cannot stretch my legs properly here, do you understand?I cannot explain why I am still homeless. I behave very well when people come to me and try to show my chocolate side. I then enjoy every moment of attention and love your cuddles.I get along very well with my doggy friends, and during the day we play together, but at night we snuggle up to each other.I am looking for people over this path who will take the time to show me the world. A place to cuddle and play would also be great.I think with the right people by my side, I could have a great life and give a lot of joy and love. Now the question remains, where do I find you? Interested? If you are interested in Legolas, please fill out our Prospective Owner Form ()or write us an email or a message on Facebook. Legolas is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU Pass. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariosis, and leishmaniasis. The sponsorship for Legolas has been taken over by Hannah G. and thus ensures a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

SteckbriefAlter: 2023 geboren.

About Legolas

What life with Legolas looks like

Legolas is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Legolas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Legolas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Legolas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Legolas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Legolas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Legolas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Legolas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
