Lemmi

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Origin Country: Hungary Lemmi is a handsome dog who arrived as a found dog at the animal shelter on July 28, 2025. He was found wandering around the fields in the community of Albertirsa and reported to the animal shelter. As expected, he was not microchipped, nor had anyone reported him missing. We do not know whether Lemmi was abandoned there or ran away from home. Regardless, another wonderful four-legged friend is waiting to be discovered by loving people who can care for him and make his new life happy. Lemmi is a loving, friendly, and agile dog who can sometimes be a bit stormy with joy. His temperament and willingness to learn need to be guided into the right paths so that he can continue to develop into a great companion, bringing good prerequisites for that. He needs a defined framework in which he can unfold himself and a loving but consistent guidance. He already walks well on a leash, is still trainable, and will certainly learn the doggie ABCs quickly with loving guidance. Lemmi wants to be mentally and physically challenged and fostered, and what other talents he may have will be discovered by his new people. The mentor program is already familiar to him, and for Lemmi, the highlight of the week is finally getting out of the kennel, where he gets some variety and people who give him time and attention. The mentors find Lemmi simply wonderful. He likes female dogs in particular, male dogs depending on his affinity. Currently, he still lives alone in a kennel, but a suitable roommate is being sought. (As of October 7, 2025) Update from February 13, 2026: Lemmi and Ziba live together in a 2-person apartment, and it’s going well. For our wonderful Lemmi, we are looking for dog-loving and experienced people who enjoy being outdoors. Lemmi would be a great companion for jogging, cycling, hiking, or similar activities, as long as both human and dog have a good time together. There will be plenty of cuddle time, play, fun, clear rules, enough quiet phases, and a full family connection, and Lemmi can finally start his life carefree and without worry. Who will conquer the world with Lemmi? Lemmi had a navel injury that was already operated on. On April 22, 2026, a volunteer, ungarische Helferin writes: "Lemmi arrived at the shelter in July 2025. On mentor days, he is allowed to leave his kennel and is led on walks by his mentors. He is loving, friendly, and open to people. Lemmi is an active, enthusiastic, and attentive dog. He is curious and energetic, goes on walks with interest, and enjoys every moment of it. During the walks, he looks forward to cuddles and affection from his mentors. He is well-handled on a leash. Lemmi lives with a female dog in a kennel and they get along well. He can be easily accustomed to female dogs. Lemmi is still young, full of energy, and has a high need for movement. He is looking for an active family that can provide him with enough stimulation and mental challenges. He wishes for a safe, permanent home where he is met with love and patience and well cared for." Lemmi is ready for travel.

About Lemmi

What life with Lemmi looks like

Lemmi is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lemmi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lemmi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lemmi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lemmi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lemmi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lemmi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lemmi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
