Adopt Lennox

German Shepherd · Male · Adult · 5 years

Gender: male neutered: yes Birth year: 2017 Origin: Bulgaria Since in Wörrstadt: 13.02.2021 Shoulder height/weight: 58 cm / 25 kg Breed: belg. Shepherd mix I was found severely injured on the roadside in Bulgaria, likely hit by a vehicle. I had a terrible injury on my left hind leg. Unfortunately, the leg could not be saved and had to be amputated. Fortunately, it was a hind leg, as a front leg would have made it much harder for a dog to get around. Accordingly, I am still agile and playful and quite sprightly on my three legs. I like people and their proximity, and I get along with other dogs if they can keep up with my rather robust nature, as I play very loudly and growl. Leash encounters are still not really relaxed, as I usually bark at other dogs first. No one has anything to do with my bowl, just let me eat in peace, and everything will be okay. I behave well in the house and can be left alone for hours. I am looking for a loving home with nice people where a three-legged dog is also a full-fledged dog. In my new home, there should not be many stairs, better none at all.

Geschlecht: männlich Kastriert: ja Geburt: 2017 Herkunft: Bulgarien In Wörrstadt seit: 13.02.2021 Schulterhöhe/Gewicht: 58 cm / 25 Kg Rasse: belg.

About Lennox

What life with Lennox looks like

Lennox is a adult german shepherd dog waiting at Tierschutz Wörrstadt in Wörrstadt.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lennox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lennox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Wörrstadt handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lennox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lennox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Wörrstadt will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lennox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lennox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Wörrstadt early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lennox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
