Lennox

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Lennox (born 08/2019), called Lenny, is a friendly Shepherd mix who really enjoys being close to his people. He loves cuddling and snuggling, seeks out contact on his own, and by now even comes to his trusted people when off-leash. Once he has gained trust, he shows himself to be an affectionate and open companion who loves being together with his people. Since July 2026, Lenny has been living with a foster family, where he is finally able to discover the world outside the animal shelter after years behind bars. Much is still unfamiliar to him: on walks he sometimes stops, looks around, and takes in the many new impressions calmly. At times he still appears a little unsure and overwhelmed. At the same time, he is already making lovely progress: he walks quite well on the leash and is increasingly oriented toward his trusted person. With patience and friendly guidance, he will gain more and more confidence. Lenny gets along very well with other dogs. He is an eager learner, playful, and full of energy, and he loves to run, bounce, and explore his surroundings. Despite an older leg injury, he is mobile and full of joie de vivre. On stony ground, however, he may limp. His future people should take this into account and adapt his activities to his physical abilities. For Lenny, we wish for loving people who give him time to build trust and to discover the world at his own pace. Sporty, active people can also be a good match for him, as long as they keep his physical limits in mind. A friendly first dog would also be a possibility, given his good compatibility with other dogs. Lenny needs some time around unfamiliar people before he feels safe. After his long years in a small kennel, Lenny has a lot to catch up on. He brings the best prerequisites to develop into a loyal companion, and he now wishes for a home where he can settle in peacefully and finally enjoy life as a family dog. Lenny is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be placed with a protection contract following a positive pre-screening. A 3-strap safety harness is required when collecting the dog. Such a harness can be purchased for just 25 €.

Lennox (geb.

About Lennox

What life with Lennox looks like

Lennox is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lennox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lennox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lennox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lennox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lennox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lennox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lennox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
