And sometimes, he won't hesitate to "bribe" you with a little lick to the ankle to get some treats. ☘️ On the cleanliness front: Léon is accustomed to the litter box and uses it perfectly. Accustomed to daily noises, Léon will easily adapt to a home where she can enjoy the company of her human and a bunny friend. ✨ Favorite pastimes: Hiding and exploring her tunnels Playing with her hay balls and small wooden toys Climbing and jumping on her cat trees which she gnaws joyfully Taking sun naps ✨ Favorite pastimes: ✨ Long, comfortable naps on the couch (where she doesn't do any mischief). Digging in her hide-and-seek mat. ☘️ Diet: Léon is a very big hay eater. She loves willow branches and is accustomed to a varied and complete green diet. • Adoptable throughout France if follow-up is possible. To adopt, we do not ask you to travel; you can arrange a ride-share organized by the association. ✨ Adoption fee: 120€ ✨ Léon is currently located in department 01. ✨ Adoption only for cohabitation with a bunny. ✨ To adopt, please consult our "before adopting" section, then complete the adoption form. One of our volunteers will contact you within the week to discuss your adoption. If this is not the case, do not hesitate to contact us. Adopting a bunny is a long-term commitment with personal and financial constraints. You become responsible for a living being with sensitivity, not an object that can be discarded at the first problem encountered. This must be a well-considered act. All photos / videos of Léon are available in her album.

About Léon

What life with Léon looks like

Léon is a small young adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Ani-Nounou in ani nounou.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Léon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Léon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ani-Nounou handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Léon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Léon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ani-Nounou will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Léon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Léon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ani-Nounou early rather than rehoming privately; they know Léon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
