LEOPOLDA

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

Birth year: 2018 LEOPOLDA is a calm and stable cat who values silence and a sense of security. In the first contact, she can be slightly withdrawn - she needs a moment to trust a new person and feel comfortable. When she realizes that nothing threatens her, she shows her warm and gentle nature. She willingly offers her head for petting, cuddles up to hands and reciprocates with a soft purr. She is not a very energetic cat - instead of long and crazy games, she would rather appreciate a full bowl and a quiet snuggle by the caregiver's side. LEOPOLDA is small, has a beautiful black fur with lovely white hairs in the ears that add to her unique charm. Unfortunately, like many black cats, she easily blends into the crowd and is often overlooked. It's a shame - because behind her unassuming appearance is a really friendly, delicate and loving cat who is just waiting for her own quiet home.

Rok urodzenia: 2018 Leopolda to spokojna i stateczna kotka, która ceni sobie ciszę i poczucie bezpieczeństwa. W pierwszym kontakcie bywa lekko wycofana – potrzebuje chwili, by zaufać nowej osobie i poczuć się swobodnie.

About LEOPOLDA

What life with LEOPOLDA looks like

LEOPOLDA is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze in Zielona Góra.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting LEOPOLDA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LEOPOLDA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LEOPOLDA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LEOPOLDA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LEOPOLDA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LEOPOLDA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze early rather than rehoming privately; they know LEOPOLDA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
