Adopt Liesbeth

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile Age: Born in 2022 Gender: Female neutered: yes Personality: A bit reserved but friendly and curious Size:约47厘米 Since at our shelter: January 2023 Family: Sisters Moonlight & (Lilly Oreo – already adopted) Hello everyone! My name is Liesbeth. I came here to Shelter Racari together with my two sisters. I must admit, we don't necessarily look like siblings since the two of them are quite alike and I look completely different. What? Do I feel like the black sheep of the family? Not at all! I have listened to the people here when they told me how pretty I am. Super nice, right? I would also say that my dark fur makes me special. In terms of personality, I'm still a bit reserved. When someone enters the kennel where I currently live, I become very interested and curious. At first, I may appear somewhat hesitant, but I'm sure I just need a little time to warm up. Once I sense that I am safe, I open my heart and show my loving side. My two sisters are important companions for me, and we stick together like a small family. We play and cuddle together, and give each other comfort in uncertain situations. Nevertheless, I long to have my own family. A loving home where I can feel secure and express my curiosity and openness. I want to share all the love I have to give with my humans and be a loyal companion to them. Hopefully, see you soon! Liesbeth If you are interested in Liesbeth, please fill out our inquiry form () or write us an email at or send us a message on Facebook. Liesbeth is ready for transport and can travel to Germany with the next one. Our dogs travel legally via Traces. Traces refers to the database system used to monitor all pet transportation within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and possess an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a quick test for the following Mediterranean diseases is performed before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Heartworm disease, and Leishmaniasis. The sponsorship for Liesbeth has been taken over by Kathrin S. and Klaus F., ensuring a full food bowl. Thank you very much on behalf of the dogs!

About Liesbeth

What life with Liesbeth looks like

Liesbeth is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Liesbeth, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Liesbeth?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Liesbeth on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Liesbeth if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Liesbeth already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Liesbeth isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Liesbeth and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
