Lilla

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Lilla was a stray dog. She grew up and lived at the end of a garden. Here, she had puppies, most of which did not survive due to human interference. We will spare you the details. With her two remaining puppies, Lilla was taken to a safe place. The puppies have found homes, now we can look for a comfortable and loving place for this dear dog. She deserves it! Lilla is a nice looking dog. She looks a bit like a Labrador, but she is smaller. In addition, she has beautiful eyes. Her caregivers wrote to us that Lilla is a very playful and affectionate lady. We received nice videos of her. She has gained weight in the shelter, Lilla is not used to living in a house. Therefore, we are looking for a patient and understanding adopter who can give her the time and guidance she needs to get used to her new environment. Photos and Videos Lilla is looking for a home ❤️ Gender: Female Size: 48 cm Born: estimated 2019 Spayed: Yes Accommodation: Sovata Cats: Unknown Temperament: Affectionate, playful It is expected that Lilla will develop into a lovely companion. She will need to lose some weight, but with healthy portions of food and regular exercise, this is no problem at all. Do you have serious interest in Lilla? Then fill out the intake form, this does not commit you to anything yet. Together we will see in the intake conversation if you and she are a good match. If desired, we may also ask the rescuer for additional and/or recent information. About Lilla

What life with Lilla looks like

Lilla is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Help een Hond in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Help een Hond handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Help een Hond will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Help een Hond early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
