adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Lilli has found her home! Her story: Lilli was allowed to move into her family in Herrburg about a year ago. Unfortunately, she now seeks a new home—this time one that truly suits her. The life in a lively household with small children is too stressful for Lilli. The constant comings and goings, birthday parties, and the hustle and bustle of everyday life take a toll on the sensitive female dog. She tries to keep everything in sight and under control—a behavior that points to her guardian dog genes. This trait makes her a vigilant and loyal companion, but can be challenging in everyday family life. Lilli is intelligent, attentive, and learns very quickly. She can already stay alone for some time and travels comfortably in the car. In a familiar environment, she shows herself to be calm, clingy, and enjoys the proximity of her primary caregiver, to whom she is strongly attached. At the same time, she also has an independent character and needs people who meet her with clarity and understanding. Changes in people or an unsettled daily routine unsettle her. For Lilli, we therefore wish for a quiet, stable home without small children—ideally with people who have experience with guardian dogs or similar temperaments and appreciate her special qualities. With her shoulder height of about 60 cm and a weight of around 31 kg, Lilli belongs to the larger female dogs. A house with a securely fenced garden would be perfect so she can move around freely and relax. She is approximately two years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has an EU pet passport. After a positive match, Lilli will find an incredibly loyal and loving companion for life with a home that offers structure, patience, and a warm heart. Lilli is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. We say a heartfelt thank you to D. Hettmann for Lilli's name and the identity she has given her. As of: 10.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Lilli

What life with Lilli looks like

Lilli is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
