Vorgemerkt

Female · Senior · 12 years

Lilly is a confident cat who came to the shelter because her owner unfortunately could no longer care for her due to health issues. Although she is no longer a young kitten, she is very open, curious, and people-oriented. She charmingly greets every visitor by eagerly grooming their hands and arms - for whatever reason. Since her arrival at the shelter, Lilly has been congested and 'hoarse'. Her meowing was sometimes barely audible - and that's despite the fact that Lilly really likes to chat with us. A swab test revealed various bacteria, which were treated with antibiotics. She can now make herself better heard, but still has a charming squeaky voice. Age-typically, she has high blood pressure and receives one tablet a day. For long-haired cats like Lilly, grooming is essential, especially since she can no longer manage her mane due to age. Currently, she is mostly shaved on her back and torso, as she arrived at the shelter heavily matted. Although Lilly shared her previous home with a cat, she does not seem enthusiastic about other cats and seems like a diva who does not want to share her attention. Initially, Lilly was often quite nasty when something didn't suit her. She finds fixation or fast movements suspicious and keeps a close eye on them. However, this behavior has largely disappeared, and she remains (also due to her age) not suitable for beginners. Once she has settled in her environment and feels comfortable, Lilly shows herself friendly and very sociable. She demands petting with more or less gentle head taps and lovingly and almost incessantly grooms the hands that stroke her. However, she is a bit too stubborn and sometimes (lovingly) pushy for children.

DE·Show original

About Vorgemerkt

What life with Vorgemerkt looks like

Vorgemerkt is a senior cat waiting at Tierheim Bonn in Bonn.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vorgemerkt, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vorgemerkt?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bonn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vorgemerkt on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vorgemerkt if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bonn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vorgemerkt already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vorgemerkt isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bonn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vorgemerkt and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
