Lilly

Mixed Breed · Female

Location: Romania, Orastie Gender: female, spayed Birth: approximately 2023 Character: very social with other cats. No solitary housing! Very affectionate, people-oriented and cuddly. Special feature: former street cat, rescued and recently set free. She is now safely in one of our foster homes and is looking for a real home where she can stay forever. Hello everyone out there, I am the lovely Lilly. My life so far has been up and down. I was probably born on the street and struggled to get by for the first year. Then a woman noticed me and took me in. I lived in an apartment for two years and really felt at home there, but I was not allowed to stay. Now there was a risk that I would be set free again in a dangerous place. And that's when the animal rights activist Manuela stepped in and took me in for fostering. Everything is new for me here, but I'm glad to have a safe place. But now I need to find a real home where I can stay forever. Here in my foster home, I show myself to be loving and reserved, I am not dominant, I just want to be loved. There is a dominant cat here who doesn't like me. Then I quickly go back, because I don't want any trouble. I get along great with the other cats here. I'm really just a sweet cat. I love people, I love being petted. And I would really like to meet my soulmate. In my future home, I wish for a quiet, loving cat friend and lots of pets. If you don't have a cat yet, I could just bring someone from here. That wouldn't be a problem. An indoor cat enclosure is enough for me, I feel very comfortable indoors. I have already been spayed, I have had my initial vaccinations against cat flu, distemper, I have been dewormed and de-fleaed, and when I travel to you, I will receive a microchip and a rabies vaccination. I will also be tested for FIV and FelV. You can read all of this in my EU pet passport. Then my caregiver will contact you. So get in touch! Your Lilly

Standort: Rumänien, Orastie Geschlecht: weiblich, kastriert Geboren: etwa 2023 Charakter: sehr sozial Artgenossen gegenüber. Keine Einzelhaltung! Also melde dich! Deine Lilly

About Lilly

What life with Lilly looks like

Lilly is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Seelenkatzen e.V. in Barsinghausen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelenkatzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelenkatzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelenkatzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
