Adopt LIMMA

Labrador Retriever · Female · Senior · 12 years

LIMMA - Older Lab Girl in Need - 12 Y., born ca. 2013, vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, EU-Pass. - Waiting near 48155 Münster - LIMMA is 12 years old (estimated by the vet) and should be euthanized in a killing station. We couldn't wait long and have taken her in. At the moment, we can only offer her a small pen, but she is alive. As a first step, we had blood tests done. They are age-appropriate, the kidney values are a bit low, but she is also underweight. She belongs to the small Lab variety, standing less than knee-high. In the killing station, we learn nothing about the dogs' past. Experience shows that dogs like her end up in the station because their owners have become ill or died. These dogs are usually not well cared for in their last days, but were once beloved family members. Update October 2022: - LIMMA has moved to a dog pension, but of course, she should not stay there. LIMMA shows a friendly and compatible nature, and we are now looking for people who can give her a home where she can once again feel loved. She can certainly be left alone for half a day. LIMMA knows life in a house and a family, she longs to sleep on a soft blanket again, she wants to receive a bowl of good food twice a day, she looks forward to comfortable walks, and she wants nothing more than to be loved and to give that love back. If you give LIMMA a chance, you will be surprised at how quickly she adapts to you. If you want to give LIMMA a home, info and contact: Ingrid Belz, email: – www.joshi2.de – We grant data release to all animal protection-authorized persons.

LIMMA - älteres Labbi Mädchen in Not - 12 J., geb.ca. 2013, geimpft, gechippt, kastriert, EU-Paß. About LIMMA

What life with LIMMA looks like

LIMMA is a senior labrador retriever dog waiting at Tier-Not-Hilfe in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting LIMMA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LIMMA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tier-Not-Hilfe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LIMMA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LIMMA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tier-Not-Hilfe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LIMMA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LIMMA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tier-Not-Hilfe early rather than rehoming privately; they know LIMMA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
