Adopt Linda Bracken

Female · Adult · 5 years

(Can be accompanied by a video) Linda was surrendered along with three other dogs by a hunter who no longer had use for them. Linda is completely overwhelmed at the animal shelter, just like her three fellow dogs. The new environment, the people, everything stresses her so much that she currently only wants to hide and/or run away. Linda needs some time to settle in, get used to things, and lose her fears before we can come up with a meaningful character description of this nice female dog. Linda needs a home with patient, calm, lovingly consistent, and above all experienced dog people who do not confirm her worries and fears but accompany her on her way with calmness and secure guidance. Linda's eyes say a lot; her mistrust, her fears, and her uncertainties are clearly written on her face and express her emotional state clearly. A prey drive can certainly be expected in Linda, which should not be forgotten due to her fears and must be taken seriously. Linda has an increased leishmaniasis titer. Please feel free to ask us any questions regarding this, we will be happy to advise you. That is precisely why the shelter is bad for Linda, because stress, restlessness, and no structured daily routine with rest phases promote leishmaniasis. Born: 03.01.2021, Size: about 48 cm, Weight: about 15.6 kg, Character: shy, unsure, Compatible with fellow animals: yes, at the animal shelter since: June 2025, tested positive for leishmaniasis. Linda travels microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, tested for all Mediterranean diseases, also a blood count of the organ values is created before travel arrangements. Linda will be rehomed with a safety harness, a GPS tracker is mandatory. About Linda Bracken

What life with Linda Bracken looks like

Linda Bracken is a adult dog waiting at TS Fellwechsel e.V. in Varel /nur Vereinssitz, kein Tierheim vor Ort.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Linda Bracken, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Linda Bracken?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TS Fellwechsel e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Linda Bracken on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Linda Bracken if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TS Fellwechsel e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Linda Bracken already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Linda Bracken isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TS Fellwechsel e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Linda Bracken and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
