Linus

Male · Young · 2 years

Linus is one of four brothers who were found as puppies in Tierra Blanca. They originally came from a government shelter along with other dogs listed for rehoming. Two of his brothers have already been adopted, while Linus and his brother Lupo are still waiting for their chance at a forever home.Linus is an extremely nervous and very sensitive dog who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. He was initially in foster care with a volunteer, but it was later decided that a refuge environment would be more suitable for him at this stage, as it provides structured socialisation and regular interaction with other dogs, which helps him gradually build confidence without pressure. He will need a very calm, understanding, and patient adopter who is experienced with or willing to work gently with a fearful dog. He needs time, space, and everything to be on his terms so he can slowly learn to trust.Linus would also benefit greatly from living with another calm, confident dog, as being around other dogs helps him feel more secure and supports his confidence as it continues to grow. With patience, stability, and quiet reassurance, Linus has the potential to make progress at his own pace.If you are interested in Linus or would like more information, please get in touch.Let’s help Linus find the safe, loving home he truly deserves.

About Linus

What life with Linus looks like

Linus is a large young adult dog waiting at Live PAWS Tenerife in Spain.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Linus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Linus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Live PAWS Tenerife handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Linus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Linus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Live PAWS Tenerife will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Linus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Linus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Live PAWS Tenerife early rather than rehoming privately; they know Linus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
