February 2026 Location: 53332 Bornheim LIO – 5 months old, beautifully marked and officially the president of the Clumsy Club Lio is five months old, about 44 cm tall, weighs 13 kg, and has a tricolor coat that really deserves to be displayed in a museum. The red speckles and the funny markings on her face make her an instantly recognizable dog—immediately endearing and impossible not to fall for. Add to that her wonderfully thick little paws, which announce with every step: “I’m going to grow into a big girl—get ready!” Her mother is well-known and quite the character: large, totally relaxed, and radiating an aura that would make even yoga teachers envious. If Lio turns out half as wonderful as her mom, she’ll become an adult dog you’ll never want to part with—and one who’ll probably stride through life just as confidently. Right now, Lio lives with her sister Diana at a foster home, and the two have developed a daily rhythm so reliable that you could almost print it out as a timetable. In the morning, they romp around as if they’d signed a contract demanding exactly that. When the weather’s warm, they both transform into decorative rugs, lying motionless for most of the day. And in the evening, as soon as the air cools down, Lio switches back into “sports mode” and shows that her thick little paws hold surprisingly much energy—sometimes even more than she herself expects. Lio herself is a little adventure on four paws. She’s playful, curious, and has that charming puppy touch—leaving you never quite sure whether she’ll gracefully glide across the meadow next or suddenly find herself puzzled by her own paws. Sometimes she takes off like a rocket only to realize she was heading in the wrong direction all along. But that’s precisely what makes her so lovable. She’s already experienced quite a bit: A visit to a restaurant? She mastered it as if she were the secret owner there. Meeting horses? No problem—she observed them with polite curiosity, as if wondering whether they’d be fun to play with. In the garden, she’s alert and watches everything closely, with the gaze of a little detective who doesn’t miss a thing. With strangers, she’s initially cautious. Lio isn’t the type of dog who immediately runs up to everyone. Instead, she prefers to take a good look first, assess the situation, and then decide at her own pace whether someone is trustworthy. But treats can help influence her decision nicely. In everyday life, she’s pleasantly uncomplicated. She lives calmly with two tomcats, her sister Diana, and two other female dogs; she travels in the car without any drama, and walks on the leash remarkably well for a young pup who sometimes still trips over her own feet. She’s also house-trained—as long as the patio door stays open; doors are among those things she doesn’t really need. For her future home, Lio would love a rural setting with a garden where she can sniff, play, sleep, and sniff again. Children should be older—around twelve years old at least—and her new people should be experienced with dogs, because Lio learns quickly and needs someone who can show her how big and exciting the world is for a young female dog.
