Lola

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Hello... I’m Lola, and I’m searching for a family to call my own.I’m a beautiful young Shepherd cross with a gentle nature and a lot of love to give. While I can be a little reserved when I first find myself somewhere new, it doesn’t take me long to settle in and show everyone what a sweet girl I really am.The people caring for me describe me as calm, friendly, and affectionate. I enjoy spending time with my humans and am always happy to receive a fuss and some attention.I’m lovely to walk and generally take life in my stride. I enjoy exploring new places and, once I've had a chance to look around, I'm happy to relax and enjoy the adventure. I already know some basic commands, including sit and down, and I'm always keen to learn more.I enjoy playing with tennis balls and will happily have a game with you. While I'm happy meeting other dogs out and about, I'd prefer to be the only dog in my home where I can enjoy all the attention, toys, and treats to myself. That said, I'm perfectly polite when out on walks and am happy to pass or meet other dogs without any fuss.More than anything, I’m a loving, sweet-natured girl who is looking for a family that will cherish me as much as I’ll cherish them. In return, I promise plenty of affection, loyal companionship, and a gentle presence by your side.If you're looking for a kind-hearted companion with lots of love to give, I think we could be the perfect match. About Lola

What life with Lola looks like

Lola is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
