Lola

Female · Young · 3 years

Lola is a beautiful 3-year-old Labrador x Spaniel. True to her breed mix, she is a busy girl with energy to burn so will thrive in an active home who will take her out for daily adventures! Lola is a friendly girl who loves to meet new friends when out and about! She is an intelligent lady who loves enrichment activities and sniffy games where she can use her nose to keep her brain busy! Her favourite game is fetch and Lola would love a large, enclosed outdoor space where she can enjoy this with her favourite people! Lola is still working on some basic obedience, but is a clever girl and a fast learner - especially when treats are involved! Adopters will have full support from the team at Dogs Trust with any ongoing training you take on. If you feel Lola could be the perfect adventure buddy for you, please submit an application and don't forget to "favourite" her! This lovely lady is Lola and she is super excited to find her forever home! Lola is an excitable girl and could live with children aged 10+ as long as they are comfortable around bouncy dogs. She can be excitable around dogs so, while she could have walking buddies, Lola would prefer to be the only dog in her new home and keep all the attention to herself! Lola has made a lot of progress with her loose lead walking but can still be strong on lead when she is excited so her adopters will need to be confident handling her during these times. She can be left for a few hours and this can be built gradually as she settles into the home. Lola isn't loving kennel life so we are hopeful any interested adopters would be able to take her home quickly, pending successful meets.

About Lola

What life with Lola looks like

Lola is a large young adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Ballymena in Ballymena.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Ballymena handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Ballymena will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Ballymena early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
