Lord Ashbourne

Mixed Breed · Male

Lord Ashbourne STRICTLY INDOOR ONLY Lord Ashbourne is our strikingly handsome boy, and he really is every bit as lovely as his rather distinguished name suggests. 🥰 He came into our care as part of the big intake of 62 cats, and he has been the sweetest boy to get to know. Lord Ashbourne is a big emotional lad with a gentle, loving and incredibly easygoing nature. He really is an all-rounder of a cat and has such a lovely presence about him. He absolutely adores his people and is very fond of a good head bump and nose boop. He loves his pets and scratches and will happily enjoy all the attention you’re willing to give him. He has the kindest eyes too, and when he looks at you, you can’t help but feel like he’s looking right into your soul. 🥹 Lord Ashbourne loves his toys and enjoys having a little play, but he also knows how to appreciate the finer things in life, particularly his fluffy blankets. One of his favourite things to do is have a little celebratory roll around on them, especially when he’s feeling particularly happy!☺️ And, naturally, this handsome gentleman is also very fond of his food. 🍗🐟 Lord Ashbourne really is a sweet, affectionate, gentle and easygoing boy with such a wonderful personality. He has so much love to give and would make a fantastic companion for someone who is looking for a special boy to share their home with.🥰 We’d love to see Lord Ashbourne find a home where he can enjoy all the things he loves most — love, attention, tasty food, plenty of playtime and, of course, his fluffy blankets. 🤞🏼🏡

About Lord Ashbourne

What life with Lord Ashbourne looks like

Lord Ashbourne is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Lord Ashbourne, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lord Ashbourne?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lord Ashbourne on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lord Ashbourne if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lord Ashbourne already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lord Ashbourne isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lord Ashbourne and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
