LORETTA

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Estimated birth date: August 2025 Brief info: friendly, people-oriented, cuddly, adventurous, attentive, curious, active, family-friendly, male dogs+, female dogs+ The estimated August 2025-born LORETTA was brought to the animal shelter in mid-February 2026 by a man and his two sons along with her two presumed siblings, Lindsay and Lucio. They claimed to have found the three young puppies, almost still puppies, on the street. However, the shelter staff had the impression that the dogs were somehow familiar with the people, and so there is a suspicion that the owners might have surrendered their own puppies, which likely came from an unplanned litter. No matter what the truth is – the puppy children were not abandoned and now have the great chance to find a wonderful home. The charming LORETTA is open, friendly, and cuddly. She runs happily on the leash and is very attentive. Of course, she still needs to learn the entire dog 1×1, but she is young and will surely try her best to do everything right. LORETTA will definitely also have a lot of fun with all kinds of adventures, because she is curious and adventurous. She also gets along well with other dogs, except for her siblings, from which she barks at other dogs when she is in her own pen. We are now looking for under-the-weather people with dog experience who are willing to embark on the "puppy" adventure – with everything that comes with it: playing, snuggling, toiling, but of course also a consistent and loving upbringing. Due to her suspected mixed breed, LORETTA unfortunately cannot be rehomed to Germany but only to certain cantons of Switzerland (or to other countries without restrictions, such as Hungary). LORETTA will move to her new home microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and with an EU pet passport. Do you want to give the charming young female puppy a nice home? Then we look forward to your message!. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About LORETTA

What life with LORETTA looks like

LORETTA is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenretter Ungarn in Pfotenretter.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting LORETTA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LORETTA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenretter Ungarn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LORETTA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LORETTA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenretter Ungarn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LORETTA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LORETTA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenretter Ungarn early rather than rehoming privately; they know LORETTA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
