adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Lottchen has found her forever home! Her story: With her shoulder height of just 25 cm, our Lottchen might appear small at first glance – but that would be far from justice. For Lottchen is undoubtedly a big treasure. A loving and joyful female mixed-breed dog, she is now searching for her final piece of happiness. The approximately 2-year-old dog with her pretty brown fur has settled well in her Romanian foster home and has shown herself to be a true angel. She is compatible with everyone, gets along well with her fellow animals, and even lives completely problem-free with cats. She is not only friendly but also uncomplicated and adaptable – a real gem. Lottchen’s past was unfortunately far from beautiful. Although she had a home, the conditions under which she had to live there were poor. During a spay campaign, our team met the little mouse in person. It was clear: such a lovely creature should not remain in such an environment. With a lot of empathy, it was finally possible to convince the owner to give Lottchen into our care. The beautiful thing is: despite everything she has experienced, she shows no trace of mistrust or fear – quite the opposite. Lottchen is open, curious, and enjoys every form of affection she receives. In her foster home, Lottchen of course already gets a little something – but in her new home, she still has much to learn about what it means to be a proper dog: from walking on a leash to being alone, to the small rules of everyday life. But with understanding guidance and a little patience, she will master all of that. For Lottchen wants to be liked, to belong – and most of all: to be loved. We wish Lottchen a home where she can arrive in peace and feel safe. She would be happy with an existing only dog to look up to – but she would also feel comfortable as a single princess. Despite her short legs, Lottchen is looking forward to walks and shared play and engagement times that enrich her daily life. Who will give our little gem a forever dog bed? A foster home would also be a wonderful support for Lottchen. Thank you, Diana T., for taking on her namesship. As of 07.07. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 07.07.2025

About Lottchen

What life with Lottchen looks like

Lottchen is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lottchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lottchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lottchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lottchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lottchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lottchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lottchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
