Loui

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Loui is a male neutered mixed breed dog born on 17.06.2025. He has been at the animal shelter since 08.08.2026. Loui is a very outgoing and friendly dog who enjoys spending time with his human companions. He particularly enjoys going for walks and exploring his surroundings with curiosity. He also gets along well with other dogs, depending on their personalities. Since Loui has likely not experienced life in a household before, many things that are taken for granted by other dogs are new to him. For example, he still needs to learn to ride in a car and be left alone. There is certainly still much to discover and practice in everyday life. Loui is a young dog who enjoys learning, is curious, and wants to please his humans. With loving consistency, patience, and a good amount of shared activities, he will certainly make rapid progress. Attending a dog school would be highly recommended for him - and we can easily imagine that he would have a lot of fun. We are looking for active people who want to discover the world with him, give him security, and teach him everything important for a happy dog life.

Rasse: Mischling. Geschlecht: männlich/kastriertAlter: geb. 17.06.2025.

About Loui

What life with Loui looks like

Loui is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Lübbersdorf in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loui, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loui?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Lübbersdorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loui on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loui if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Lübbersdorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loui already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loui isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Lübbersdorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loui and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
