adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Louise has earned her ticket to happiness! Her story: Bistrita, Romania. Thelma and Louise want to write their own "Road Movie." We hope very much for the two small girls that their wish will soon come true, and that they will soon be able to embark on their journey to their new home. Clearly, they are a Pinscher/Terrier mix. At the moment, they are only about 25 cm tall, will certainly grow a bit more, but will remain small overall. The beautiful Louise is very friendly to people and dogs. Cats have not yet been tested. Her fur is very short, where the Pinscher traits clearly stand out. Unfortunately, we know nothing about their past. Although Louise is six months old, she is still not an adult. She wishes for her own family where she can arrive in peace and set off on her personal adventure together. Louise is looking forward to many beautiful hours in the great outdoors and attending a dog training class. And of course, plenty of cuddle opportunities must not be missing. The challenging time of puberty still lies ahead of her. Surely, she will question everything she has learned so far. But with a lot of patience and the right amount of humor, you will also master this phase together. Louise would definitely also be suitable as a second dog, perhaps even together with her sister Thelma? She would also definitely be happy about a foster home. After positive vaccination, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment. Depending on her age at the travel date, she will also be spayed beforehand. Are you looking for a small dog? Then you are exactly right for Louise. Many thanks, Silvie S.! You have opened the path to a better future for the sisters with your namesake. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Louise

What life with Louise looks like

Louise is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Louise, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Louise?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Louise on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Louise if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Louise already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Louise isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Louise and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
