Löwenkopf Damen

Female

We are an 8-girl group and were abandoned on a parking lot. Luckily, kind people found us and brought us to the animal shelter. Now we're here with our bags packed for a new home. We were born between 2024 and 2026, when we were still young hoppers. With their mane, a collar of long fur, they have some resemblance to a male lion. That's where the big name comes from for the little creatures. The rest of the body has short fur and resembles the colors of dwarfs strongly. Their mane gives the furry noses their extravagant appearance. They are quick and playful all day long in motion. They like to explore their surroundings and interact with each other again and again. Their social contacts are very important to them. That's why you should never keep a lionhead rabbit alone.

About Löwenkopf Damen

What life with Löwenkopf Damen looks like

Löwenkopf Damen is a large adult rabbit waiting at Tierheim Uhlenkrog Kiel in Kiel.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Löwenkopf Damen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Löwenkopf Damen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Uhlenkrog Kiel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Löwenkopf Damen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Löwenkopf Damen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Uhlenkrog Kiel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Löwenkopf Damen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Löwenkopf Damen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Uhlenkrog Kiel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Löwenkopf Damen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
