Lucy Meet Lucy our stunning three-year-old girl with a whole lot of love to give! This gorgeous girl is super lovable, easygoing and has a lovely little personality of her own. 🥹💕 Lucy can have a little nervous edge when meeting new people, so she might need a wee bit of time to get to know you and build that trust. But don't let that fool you, because this girl absolutely loves her affection and attention once she's comfortable! Chin rubs, gentle pets and a bit of fuss are right up her street. ❤️ Lucy does have a refined taste and is particularly fond of her dry food! She knows what she likes! When she's not enjoying her dinner, you'll most likely find her curled up in her cosy bed, all wrapped up and perfectly content to sleep the day away. 💤 She can get a little overwhelmed from time to time, but can't we all? She just needs someone who understands her little quirks and lets her settle in at her own pace. Lucy would make a wonderful companion for her forever person, bringing plenty of love, cuddles and cosy company to her new home. Could you be the lucky one to give this beautiful girl her happily ever after? 🏡💗

About Lucy

What life with Lucy looks like

Lucy is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucy?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucy if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lucy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucy isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
