Adopt Lucy

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Information about Lucy: Breed: mixed breed Gender: female Born: 10.09.2022 (estimated) Color: black-spotted Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Chipped: yes Ankle height: ca. 50cm Specialty: short tail Residence: Hárkany, Hungary Update 25.07.2025: Lucy has been living in a different foster home for some time now, which is in the middle of Pecs. Here, she has also learned to live in a house and go for walks in the city. She gets along well with other dogs, but cats and chickens should not be in her new home. Update 15.03.2025: Lucy now needs her own home, she is big and can move out of the foster home in Hungary. Her puppies will soon be going their own ways and won't need her anymore. Lucy is described as a quiet, friendly female dog, but no cats and chickens should be in her new home. Background: Lucy was rescued from very bad conditions; she gave birth to her puppies in the cold. They had neither a proper shelter nor food for themselves and their offspring. Only 3 of the puppies survived; ice, snow, and the biting cold were very hard on them. Fortunately, the little family was accommodated by Veronika. She now does what she can to ensure they have everything they need. What is missing is a home for all four dogs; soon, it will be time for Lucy to say goodbye to the little ones. We are now looking for a loving, caring home for the friendly Lucy. If you like Lucy, please contact us. Lucy could soon be microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and ready to travel with a blue EU passport. Sabine Rosentreter-Koch Name and thanks for sponsors.

About Lucy

What life with Lucy looks like

Lucy is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. in Mildstedt.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lucy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lucy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lucy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lucy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lucy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lucy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lucy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
