Ludwig

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Ludwig has found his home! His story: Ludwig has already experienced a lot of suffering with his estimated two to three years of age. He was found severely injured by the roadside after being abandoned, hit by a car, and left there. In the car accident, he sustained countless fractures and had to undergo multiple surgeries. However, he was lucky and did not suffer any paralysis. Ludwig has proven how much life courage is within him. He is very friendly to everyone and everything. He is currently still receiving nutritional supplements and is getting better at walking every day. He loves his walks and enjoys cuddling very much. He can also already perform some basic commands. The fact that the little one understands to go outside to do his business is another thing he has mastered. Ludwig is a small male dog with a very fluffy, light brown coat, which is highlighted by his white paws and a white chest. His first bath was also well managed, and he also allows himself to be brushed without a problem. With his small size of about 30 cm and his two to three years of age, he is the perfect four-legged companion. At two to three years old, he has already gone through puberty. Nevertheless, there will certainly be some challenges for the new human-dog team. He is looking for people who will give him a lot of love and empathy. Ludwig wants to be part of many activities and spend a lot of time with his people. After getting used to his new home, Ludwig would surely enjoy attending positive dog training classes. The little fighter has not lost his trust in humans and deserves to enjoy a worry-free life. Ludwig is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings an EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive review. Many thanks to Helga! You named Ludwig. Date: 13.11.

Vielen Dank an Helga! Du hast Ludwig seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 13.11.2024

About Ludwig

What life with Ludwig looks like

Ludwig is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ludwig, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ludwig?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ludwig on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ludwig if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ludwig already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ludwig isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ludwig and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
