Adopt Luigi und Lola

05.03.2026 Urgent Double Emergency! Luigi – Boxer male dog – born 2015 – neutered Lola – Boxer female dog – born 2015 neutered Lola and Luigi have lived together since puppyhood in a family and were given to the animal shelter a year ago. There, they have been waiting in vain for a new home. We were made aware of this sad case by animal protectors and initially offered mediation assistance, which unfortunately did not yield any success. As these two wonderful dogs are now on the euthanasia list, action had to be taken. Now, Lola and Luigi are with us at the Boxerhof and finally in safety. We have rarely experienced such magnificent Boxers who have deeply touched our hearts. Both are super well-trained, go nicely on the leash, and can also be led by one person without any problems. They love their people more than anything, like children, are cuddly, and true heart Boxers. We see how touching and caring they are with each other. Lola and Luigi are an inseparable team. They have grown close together in good and bad times and that should remain so. Even though both Boxers are in senior age, one can hardly believe how they enjoy beautiful walks and play and wrestle with each other. The veterinary check-up has shown basic good results. However, Luigi has an abscess on his lip, which should be removed, and Lola has an abscess on a paw. The surgical measures should take place in a family environment, as we can hardly guarantee control and the healing process. The veterinary costs will be covered by the association. It is very important to us that these two heart Boxers can soon enjoy their "retirement" in a new family. We are happy to provide any assistance here. Please contact us. 05.03.2026 Dringender Notfall im Doppelpack! Kontakt: Ute Laue Tel.: E-Mail: Manuela Büscher Tel.: E-Mail: Spenden Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland e.V. About Luigi und Lola

What life with Luigi und Lola looks like

Luigi und Lola is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland in Hiddenhausen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luigi und Lola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luigi und Lola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luigi und Lola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luigi und Lola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luigi und Lola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luigi und Lola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luigi und Lola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
