Maison 9 56 - IMG_4815 Maison 3 Maison 2 Maison 4 Maison 6 Maison 5 Maison 1 February 12, 2026 Maison – Boxer male dog – born May 2, 2021 – neutered Maison has had an unstable time behind him, but we do not want to dwell on that. We look to the future and are sure: Soon, the perfect Maison/human team will be in sight. Even though it is not yet the person for him alone, Maison has already found his new favorite caregiver, Caro. The mutual affection is clear, and Maison feels the warm and unprejudiced acceptance. Maison is orienting himself to the calm and sovereign manner and is mentally and physically at ease. We no longer experience the overreactions of the nervous bundle here. His development under changed conditions allows us to better understand Maison, together with the competent assessment of his caregivers. As an insecure and sensitive dog, Maison requires a balanced, safe, and consistently friendly human by his side. Any kind of hussle, an unsettled environment, and even well-meaning continuous play put Maison under stress. An aspect that cannot be overlooked is his clearly negative experiences with men. Maison would therefore be well suited in a strong women's household. The absolute optimum would be a "one-woman household," as Maison likes to bond with a person. The future living environment will be rural, with an enclosed garden. Cats and small dogs should not live in the household, but a chill, larger female dog would be conceivable. Maison will gladly accompany you on extensive rounds through forest and field, enjoys car rides, and can be left alone after the adjustment period. You can meet our Boxer boy in the beautiful Altmark in Saxony-Anhalt (ZIP 39469). Contact: Annett List Email: Spenden Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland e.V. Maison 9 56 - IMG_4815 Maison 3 Maison 2 Maison 4 Maison 6 Maison 5 Maison 1 12.02.2026 Maison – Boxer Rüde – geb. About Maison

What life with Maison looks like

Maison is a adult dog waiting at Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland in Hiddenhausen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Maison, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Maison?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Maison on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Maison if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Maison already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Maison isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Maison and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
