Luma

English Bulldog · Female · Senior · 9 years

Say hello to our wonderful Luma! Luma is a lovely character who would be perfect for Frenchie enthusiasts! She is great with other dogs and can mirror them really well. If another dog invites her to play, she will happily join in, but if they are worried or nervous, she is respectful of their space. Luma would therefore enjoy meeting new canine pals in her new home. Luma can be a little worried at first and may demand bark for attention from her humans. However, she warms up quickly and responds well to basic training that encourages calmer ways of asking for attention. Luma is looking for a quiet, loving home away from the busy inner city, with a private garden where she can enjoy pottering around and having some playtime. She could live with teenagers who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs and give her space when she needs it. She loves to nap in her cosy bed and is often found snoozing away! If you're looking for a sweet companion to share your home with, Luma could be the girl for you. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Luma, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Luma

What life with Luma looks like

Luma is a small senior english bulldog dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Luma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
