Lumiel

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Lumiel has found a home! Her story: Meet Sweetie Lumiel. The little mouse with brown spots on her white fur had a tough start in life. Why? Together with her five siblings Aldor, Ronja, Romy, Mirja, and Tomte, she was placed in a large plastic bag shortly after birth, thrown into the street gutter, and left to die by suffocation or starvation. Our local volunteers were miraculously there in time, rescuing the helpless and vulnerable litter at the last second and tenderly and lovingly providing 1. aid. Now, the six furballs begin to explore the world around them piece by piece. Our Lumiel is likely to grow to a medium to large size. During the pubertal phase, which begins roughly in late autumn, things can get turbulent, as previously learned and practiced commands or lessons of Puppy ABC may occasionally be forgotten. Then, patience and empathy are called for, and once the hormonal transition is over, the little mouse will likely bring a lot of joy to her human or family. According to her expected size, Lumiel should be given plenty of space and freedom to move. A house with a garden in a rural or suburban area is ideal for the heartthrob, as she can fully flourish and enjoy an exuberant and dignified female dog life. Has Lumiel captured your heart in a storm? After a difficult, harsh start in life, she desperately needs a home full of care and cuddles. Her little suitcase is packed by mid-October. She brings her EU pet passport, is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, and can only be adopted after a positive home check. A foster home would initially be very welcome for Lumiel. Many thanks to Stefanie, Walter, and Hund Fant, who gave Lumiel a beautiful name and thus an identity. As of: 13.08.

Stand: 13.08.2025

About Lumiel

What life with Lumiel looks like

Lumiel is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lumiel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lumiel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lumiel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lumiel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lumiel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lumiel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lumiel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
