Adopt Lumina

Female · Puppy

The truly loving Pummelfee Lumina was dropped off at our Hungarian partner shelter because she allegedly fled to the neighbors and hunted the chickens there. Whether that's true, we don't know. At least we can only speak highly of her. The sweetness is very people-oriented, very loving, and cuddly. She shows herself to be consistently compatible with dogs of both sexes. She tries to avoid very pushy dogs. Lumina already runs well on a leash. When you go into her kennel, she greets you joyfully, hops, and begs for cuddles. Lumina has had no requests so far, therefore she could not travel in the last transport. Yes, there certainly are dogs that look cuter or prettier. But are they as loyal and clingy as Lumina? Lumina is simply a treasure. We can imagine Lumina in a family as well as with an individual. Children should already be stable. In a cat test, Lumina showed a lot of respect for the whiskers and only wanted to quickly leave the room. A quiet living environment would be nice for her. For the city, she is certainly not suitable due to her gentle nature. We are aware that Lumina neither has a cuteness factor nor is a purebred beauty, but she has a wonderful nature and a big heart. We hope very much that Lumina will still have the chance to find a nice home on this path, and that she will be loved and appreciated. Lumina travels of course neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, medically checked, and with an EU pet passport. The handover could take place with the next transport on 09.05.2026 in Berlin or alternatively in the Stuttgart area. Brief info Name: Lumina Breed: female dog, neutered Date of Birth: 20.06.2022 Shoulder Height:. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Lumina

What life with Lumina looks like

Lumina is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lumina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lumina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lumina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lumina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lumina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lumina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lumina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
