Luna

Galgo Español · Female · Adult · 4 years

Luna is looking for a family to share her life with. Will you be the one? This beautiful greyhound was given up by a hunter along with her brother Mbape. Now, in Cantabria, she is waiting for a new chance to discover the joy of having a home where she is loved, cared for, and pampered forever. Luna has a special charm: her beautiful hard coat, her sweet gaze, and a loving and friendly personality that is irresistible. She is one of those little dogs that only need a chance to show all they have inside. With other dogs, she can be a bit rough when interacting, but in general, she gets along well with them. She has her own way of making friends! Now she is missing the most important thing: a family that will notice her, give her a place, and never leave her behind again. Would you like Luna to be part of your family? If you are thinking of adopting, maybe she is that four-legged companion you didn't know you were looking for. Share her story. Sometimes, sharing a post is the first step to changing a life. Luna is waiting for you in Cantabria. Can we make a place for her in the world together? About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is an adult galgo español dog waiting at Galgo Leku in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Galgo Leku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Galgo Leku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Galgo Leku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
