Mbape

Galgo Español · Male · Adult · 4 years

Mbape arrived with his sister Luna from a town in Palencia, given up by a hunter. Now he is looking for something that no dog should ever be without: a family that loves him forever. He is a large greyhound, sociable and affectionate. And he has a very special way of showing it! He loves to rub against people like a kitten, seeking cuddles and caresses. He never misses an opportunity to approach someone on the street to ask for a little affection. He is a real flirt! With other dogs he can be a bit rough, but he is learning to manage his emotions and relate better. With patience, understanding and good guidance, he will continue to progress. He is currently in Cantabria, waiting for that family to fall in love with his huge heart. Can you imagine coming home and being greeted by this big boy looking for cuddles? Mbape is looking for a forever home, a family that gives him his place in the world and a love that he never has to say goodbye to. Will you make a place for him in your home? Please share. Maybe his family is on the other side of a post shared by you.

About Mbape

What life with Mbape looks like

Mbape is an adult galgo español dog waiting at Galgo Leku in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mbape, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mbape?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Galgo Leku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mbape on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mbape if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Galgo Leku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Mbape already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mbape isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Galgo Leku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mbape and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
