Luna

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Luna—a small, young female dog who desperately longs to finally feel safe. I arrived at the shelter on May 13, 2026. Two months earlier, a kind woman on Buchenwaldczyków Street found me and gave me a home and care. I really wanted to trust her, but the fear I carry inside often proved stronger than I was. I don’t know why life taught me to be so afraid of people earlier on. Maybe I’d been hurt, or maybe I’d met the wrong people. One thing is certain—my past has left its mark on my heart, and I’m still learning that people can be good. When I moved into a shelter kennel with other dogs, something began to change. I watch my canine companions, see how they approach people, and learn courage from them. Slowly, I’m starting to take my own little steps. Nothing about me can be rushed, but I’m trying very hard. I need a calm, patient, and understanding home—one that will give me time and won’t expect me to instantly become a brave, confident dog. More than anything, I need someone who’ll show me that I never have to be afraid again. I’m up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, and soon I’ll undergo spaying surgery. Could it be that right here—with you—I’ll find my safe place in the world?

Do schroniska trafiłam 13 maja 2026 roku. Potrzebuję spokojnego, cierpliwego i wyrozumiałego domu.

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
