adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Ah Lupina … What must you have endured? Day after day, she sits quietly and sadly in her enclosure, barely venturing out of her hut. Occasionally, she peeks out shyly. Her large, dark eyes look at us in these moments – filled with sadness, filled with questions. What stories she would tell if she could! We sense that it wasn’t a pleasant one. Like many of her fellow sufferers, Lupina came to our shelter through dog catchers. We unfortunately know nothing about her past. Whether she ever had a home, we cannot say. But we assume that she spent her previous life on the streets. It seems she has learned that humans do not offer protection or trust. Lupina is extremely shy. She remains in her safe retreat, avoids contact, and has not yet been handled. Her behavior towards other dogs or cats has also not yet been tested – she is simply not ready for that yet. She is only four years old and her entire life lies ahead of her. We are searching for a very special home for Lupina: people with hearts, patience, and ideally experience in dealing with anxious dogs. People who are willing to give her all the time in the world – without expectations, but with a lot of love and understanding. It will be a path of small steps. If she is ready, a visit or contact with a positively working dog training class could certainly be beneficial. But despite everything, we are quite sure: Behind the shy female dog lies a wonderful soul that will eventually bloom – if given the chance. Lupina is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive foster home trial. We would also be very happy to have a foster home for the sweet mouse! Does someone out there have the heart and strength to give this special female dog a chance? Many thanks to Odette! You named Lupina. Date: 16.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Ach Lupina … Was musstest du nur erleben? Vielen Dank an Odette! Du hast Lupina Ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 16.04.2025 Weitere Informationen zum Thema Vorkontrolle und Schutzgebühr

About Lupina

What life with Lupina looks like

Lupina is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lupina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lupina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lupina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lupina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lupina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lupina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lupina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
