adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Lupita can stay forever in your foster home! Her story: May we introduce her? Our standout Lupita. With her glossy black fur and her one-sided ear as a trademark, she's simply a visual highlight. Lupita is a ca. 8-year-old female dog with a shoulder height of ca. 50 cm. Her wild years are already behind her. Unfortunately, Lupita must still undergo an operation, as tumors in the mammary glands are suspected. This operation is imminent, and we hope that it will be successful. Lupita has made great progress. At first, she was shy and skeptical – no wonder after the many long years in the public shelter in Baia Mare. She has waited there for so long! Now, she already lets herself be put in a harness and cautiously explores the world. Of course, Lupita still reacts insecurely in some situations outside, but she responds well to guidance and pays attention to the signals of her humans. She will certainly need some time in a new family to get used to her new environment, but we are very optimistic that Lupita's moment has come and she is now ready. With the first-time mother in her foster home, "Lupi" understands each other excellently, she adjusts well to her. We are looking for experienced hands for our sensitive Lupita, who will give her the necessary time and patience to open up even more. A rural, quiet home without much noise would be ideal, which sometimes still unsettles her. Beautiful walks and the occasional small adventure would definitely make her happy once she has truly arrived. Who will finally give this faithful soul a place in their heart and a beautiful second life? Lupita can be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in her new family. She brings an EU pet passport with her and will be available after a positive home check. Many thanks, Heike! You gave Lupita her name and thus her own identity. Dear thanks, Ilona H.! You support Lupita with a monthly sponsorship. Also, Gitta N. helps Lupita with a monthly sponsorship. Many thanks! Stand: 24.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Lupita darf für immer in ihrer Pflegestelle bleiben! Ihre Geschichte: Dürfen wir vorstellen? Unser Hingucker Lupita. Lieben Dank Ilona H.! Du unterstützt Lupita mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Auch Gitta N. hilft Lupita mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Vielen Dank! Stand: 24.12.2024

About Lupita

What life with Lupita looks like

Lupita is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lupita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lupita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lupita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lupita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lupita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lupita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lupita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
