adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Lupo can stay! His story: 74646 Bretzfeld. Lupo could move into a family in early March. Unfortunately, it’s not working out as expected. Lupo is very attached to his trusted people but reacts nervously to changes in people, constant visitors, and small children. Therefore, we wish for Lupo a less stimulating environment without children living in the household. In his previous foster home in Munich, he was described as a cheerful young puppy who got along well with the first puppy and the cat living in the house. A confident only dog, preferably a female dog, and also a cat would be a great joy for our cute fluffball. The now approximately 8-month-old Lupo is already almost 60 cm tall and will still grow a bit. However, he is not aware of his size. He clumsily explores his surroundings. The "on-leash walking," car rides, and house training are already going well. He has also eventually ignored the chickens on the property after initially showing a lot of interest. Soon he will enter puberty, and for dogs, this is also an important time when the foundations for the entire dog life are set. During this life phase, Lupo will undoubtedly put his people to the test with their patience, but with lots of love, humor, and a certain amount of perseverance, it will be possible to shape Lupo, the "pubertier," into a reliable companion. Lupo is a breed mix, and it’s still not clear which breed-specific characteristics will manifest in him. He is sometimes a bit mistrustful of strangers and likes to be independent. However, Lupo is still so young and has almost his entire life ahead of him. And his new people have it in their hands to shape him through lots of love, engagement, patience, and diligent training work. A house with a garden in the countryside would be perfect for him. For the handsome young boy, we wish for a dog-experienced loving and active family that meets him with respect. His new people should offer him lots of dog contact and be willing to work patiently and consistently on the training of the young dog. If you fall in love with the beautiful Lupo, then contact us! After a positive visit, Lupo and get to know him! We thank the namings Anneliese and John T. for choosing Lupo's cute name. As of: 23.03. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Lupo darf bleiben! Stand: 23.03.2024

About Lupo

What life with Lupo looks like

Lupo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lupo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lupo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lupo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lupo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lupo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lupo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lupo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
