Adopt Luz

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Origin: Ubeda (Andalusia) Location: Ubeda (Andalusia) Size / Weight: approx. 38 cm shoulder height at approx. 14 kg Other: neutered, microchipped with EU passport, vaccinated and tested for Mediterranean diseases Character: nice, friendly, compatible with other dogs New home: empathy, time, no expectations, understanding of dogs, garden Adoption fee: 380 euros including transport costs to Germany Our Luz is a beautiful female dog who was surrendered from a seizure in the animal shelter in Úbeda/Andalusia. And this is how Luz is described by our caregivers in Spain: Luz is a charming 10-year-old female dog who came to us after a police action. She was found together with several other dogs, all of which - except for her - were tied up. Judging by her condition, someone had decided that Luz was only to be used for breeding. Luz is a quiet female dog who gets along well with both people and other dogs, although she often prefers the calm of her small bed. She has adapted very well to the animal shelter and enjoys being petted very much. Luz is not demanding; she just needs love, cuddles and a soft bed where she can finally rest. It's time for her to leave her dark past behind and feel that her life can now really be filled with light. We hope that Luz also gets her chance. Her chance to experience how beautiful life can be. If you have the opportunity to offer Luz a safe home forever, we would be happy if you contact us. Luz can leave for Germany completely vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, dewormed and tested for Mediterranean diseases at any time. Since our dogs arrive from Spain in Northern Bavaria, we ask you to check before making an inquiry whether pickup for you in Northern Bavaria is possible. The behavioral and character description of the dog is based on observations by the shelter staff on site and refers exclusively to local conditions.

About Luz

What life with Luz looks like

Luz is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) in Vilseck.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
